for wkw shu uemura

Hihi...

Yesterday Mich and I was at a Shu Uemura's launching party at Empire Shopping Center (Subang), it was to launch a holiday collection by Wong Kar Wai (王家衛), a Hong Kong director. One of his more (in)famous movies is In the Mood For Love (花樣年華), if you happen to be a fan of chinese movies.

Anyway there was not much at the (supposedly) party, no food nor door gift. Which was a little disappointing, I was hoping that at least I can get a sample or something but oh well, good thing is they teach us how to apply makeup. That's something that I'm looking forward to the most and of course to also have a good fun with my girlfriend.

Left: Burning in Water
Right: Drowning in Flame
(notice how they interchange the gerunds to show a side of their creativity)

False Lashes: Dance in Glitter (Left) and Jewel Love (Right)
Mascara
Special Edition Lipsticks:
Rouge Luster - red shade with delicate gold shimmer
Pink Flush - bright glossy pink
Glitter Fuse - beige with gold sparkle
Flashing gold mini brush set
Lustrous Glow Powder
Cleansing Oil

These were the items I saw during the launch, I know the collection also includes nail polish but it wasn't there yesterday or rather I didn't notice any. I did pickup a few tips and techniques on putting up a nice makeup so it was quite worthwhile for me as I'm still quite an amateur. After the presentation on makeup application, the instructor gladly did a makeup on my face using a palette of my choice. I went for burning in water palette because I'm attracted by the deep blue pigment.

This is the result of the instructor's demo on me. It took her a mere 10 minutes to get this ready (it could be a lot faster if we hadn't disrupt her with so many why and how... LOL). After I got this look, I realized the blue palette is not the only thing that I'm attracted to but also the gold glitter!

The picture doesn't do justice how bling the glitter is under the lights, I'm using my iPhone for all my picture taking these days. I feel that with the bling, the eyes look a lot brighter and larger. Overall it the eyes seem to have more energy. So, with the knowledge I pick up yesterday, I tried to apply the same technique on myself today and this is what I got.

My left eye

This is how it looks under white lighting

I feel I still need to work on my technique, seems to me I can get a bit overboard with the darker pigment. There isn't much contrast between the light and dark colors, so it's not quite exactly like the one I had yesterday. But for someone who is starting to learn to pick up the correct way on makeup application, I think I'm quite happy with this. ^_^

shopping gone wild

Not too long ago, Crabtree and Evelyn had a member's sale at all their outlet. All items were on sale, if you're a non-member you get a 20% off and if you're a member you get a 30% discount. Initially when I learn about it I brush it aside, thinking that it's just another sale, like everything else. Then when I walked into one of their outlets, I immediately fell for their Hello Kitty bag. I started to spread the news around to my friends and helped them into buying some and I end up with all these bags.

Some of the Hello Kitty bags.

Summer Hill

Citron

Nantucket Briar

Iris

La Source

Lavender

Gardener

Rosewater

This is how it looks like inside. The mesh bag in the middle can be detach from the bag if you don't need to use it. Each bag comes with 2 regular size products, depending on which range you choose. The products are normally shower gel, body lotion, hand lotion or scrub.

You can choose from 8 different designs but Iris is my favourite so far. Each of this bag is retailing at MYR110 but if you're a member you can own one by paying MYR97 during the sale. You can still own yourself one of these bags as they are still having sale for member but only at 15%. Which of these is your favourite?

Beauty Queen (女人我最大) - A/W Shoes 2011

About a month ago I started watching a Taiwanese women talk show, Beauty Queen. Now I think I’m totally hooked on watching it. I will try to accumulate a few episodes and watch it all at once on a weekly basis. I think some of the tips they shared there are really useful in our daily lives. While some of the episodes really make you want to dash out immediately to purchase it. My favourite is usually when they teach on how you can style your hair, other than that I also love to watch on how to maintain one’s beauty the correct way.

Whenever I watch this show, boyfriend will be sitting beside me, shaking his head and say "Why do I have a feeling that this is going to be an expensive show?". Hahahaha... indeed because after watching the show, I feel that my frequency of visiting beauty stores have upped and so are my beauty related purchases.

So cute right??!!!!
Yes, this is where I first saw this shoe. It's the Adidas Autumn/Winter 2011 collection - adidas Originals by Jeremy Scott. Make me want to get one for myself immediately but wait till you see the one with a bouncy hello kitty head. That's even more adorable.
The one on the top most right shoe is the featured and it has got a bouncy head, so when you walk with the bouncy head it will seem like it's talking to you. This collection is the latest Hello Kitty collaboration with the Hong Kong based b+ab. So you can also figure out, this series is exclusively available in Hong Kong, although you can try pulling some strings and ask your friends to buy it for you. Luckily it's not available in Malaysia else I will be splurging more unnecessary money again... wahahahah....

another pain in the a$&

I went for my 2nd installation of my braces to the lower jaw. Tomorrow is going to be such a pain. If you read my previous post, not too long ago, I went to have my teeth straighten due to various issues. This process will at least take 2 years for me according to my dentist (given my age *eyes roll*). Initially I had my upper braces done while waiting for 2 surgery extraction on my lower jaw. Fast forward 2 months later, that is today, I went to get my lower ceramic braces done. Slowly I can feel the pain easing in and I think tomorrow is going to be worst. What can I say, I ask for it and so I deserve it, karma's a bitch!

This is how it looks like right now. Sigh... I hope all this better be worthwhile!

a caffeine overdosed weekend

Last weekend was a pretty awesome weekend for me. I headed down south to attend a conference and extended it while my girlfriend came to join me for a weekend getaway from our routine. We shop and dine till we drop dead on our bed every night. It is pretty much the thing I needed having cooped in KL for so long not having easy access to shopping as much as I like to.

The moment I touchdown at Changi, I knew I have to head for this.
Toffee Nut Latte!!!!!!
It was not available yet in M'sia but it was already available in S'pore but by the time I blog about it they just released it like yesterday. Anyway, so I was kind of glad that I took time off from my crazy wee morning hour flight because by the time the conference started I was overworked every night. Just slump on my bed and wake up really super duper early until there was no time for anything. So throughout the time I was really hoping for weekend to hurry, it was like some kind of reward for me. Boy, I'm really glad that the weekend came.

Took a picture of the Singapore Flyer while on the cab. Ah just some of the things I have missed.

One of my favourite hangout when I was living in S'pore it reminds me of my holiday in Japan because I spent my last few hours of holiday in Japan in Tully's so every time I came here it helps to relive some of the moments I had in Japan. 日本にいたい!

I manage to met up with my japanese classmate, Wei Lin. It's been so long since I last saw her, kind of miss hanging out with her at cafe (T_T)
Then there were Michelle and Suzanne all are great companies that night.

The must have sticky date toffee pudding @ Marmalade Pantry

We spent an afternoon having our high tea at TWG. Their scone is delicious and yummy especially when it's warm inside and served with clotted cream... heavenly...

More of the pictures we took throughout the weekend. I can't get enough of the Himalayan Tea Latte, which is only available in McCafe, sigh...

Of the many things I bought while there, this trip down south, I really enjoyed my shopping therapy tremendously. Last but not least, thanks to my darling for making it all happen and true for me and also Michelle for being such a darling to have to leave his son and hubby to come and keep me company!
